Reason For The Season

Hello everyone! We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones. We say this a lot, but we are grateful for each one of you. Even if we've not met, we are confident that you make a remarkable contribution to this world.

We know we have followers from many different faiths and belief styles. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, Diwali, or another, we want you to know that we respect you and are grateful for you.

This can be a rough time of year. Many areas are going into lower temperatures, and it gets darker sooner. Some people feel a greater sense of loneliness and desperation. Others are affected by the weather. For some, the thought of a new year starting is not necessarily happy for them. For all of those reasons (or any other), we exist to try to be a spark of goodness. We want everyone to understand the "reason for the season" and the reason for life: It's simply to be good to each other (everyone matters without exception). We are all in this together.

As we finish out December and the new year approaches, may we all find ways to serve each other and realize we have more in common than we do in contrast. By acting in service, we are putting others first. Have you ever served someone and realized how good it felt? This next week let's remember to be more thoughtful and considerate of others no matter their background. When time & tempers might be short, remember to be patient and show extra love. Many individuals may be fighting their own battles. As Aesop says, "no act of kindness is ever wasted".

Have a wonderful long holiday weekend, and stay safe. We will talk again soon.

Warmly,

- Roots of Humanity
