Elementary school grades K - 6 children everywhere are invited to enter a free Roots of Humanity Foundation art competition during the holiday season and vie for prizes and recognition.
The contest, which begins December 1, 2018 and continues through December 27th, is part of a continuing Roots of Humanity Foundation educational outreach to children through the arts. The three winning entries will be reproduced in glass and auctioned to help support the stunning international art-glass project “Roots of Humanity.”
Children are encouraged to submit a favorite drawing or painting online. A jury will narrow the entries to the top 10, and the public will vote for their favorites. Top prizes will go to the top three vote-getters.

The three winners will have their artwork reproduced into 3D art-glass pieces, receive a T-shirt, lapel pin, backpack and mug. The rest of the top ten will be given a T-shirt, pin and backpack.
Details can be found at on the foundation's k-6 Art Competition page.
“We long have believed that educating our youth will help them understand the value of art in their lives,” says Tom Holdman, internationally-known glass artist whose art-glass windows are displayed in religious buildings, public spaces, commercial buildings, and homes worldwide. “A large part of the Roots of Humanity Foundation is to help inspire with art education. From drawing and painting to art-glass, both two and three dimensional. We have supported field trips and workshops in the past and have begun escalating our efforts to promote the arts further to children. We are very excited to see the entries for the children’s art glass contest and hope to receive hundreds of entries."
