With recent events here in the U.S., along with the anniversary of 9/11, our hearts are heavy. It’s overwhelming to witness not only the hate and division we’re facing as a nation, but also the turmoil unfolding across the world. So many are left feeling hopeless and devastated, and it serves as a reminder of just how much pain surrounds us.
As we began shaping the vision for the Sphere of Light, co-founder Gayle Holdman wrote down words that came to her heart. We hope they bring a small amount of light into the darkness.

In Your Sphere
By: Gayle Holdman
One human life,
A precious gem
Holding miracles within
Reflection of the best from generations
Brilliant glory in each one
Like a prism through the sun
Potential to give light to every nation
Different language,
Different skin
Different places that we’ve been
For all the contrast,
There‘s still more in common
See the kindred,
Find the same
Search for aspects we all claim
That which we share must never be forgotten
So much more for you to know
Opening places you can go
Using courage to support the cause of freedom
You can create a space in faith
Where together we relate
Let your love unite the world
Within your sphere
Walls of conflict,
Walls of shame
Keep us separate, keep us maimed
How can we see each other as we are?
What we need and what we feel-
Understanding helps us heal
Together we can bridge each painful scar
No one needs
To stand alone
We are meant to live as one
Love will always bring a resolution
He’s your brother, she’s your friend
We’ve one world, one life to spend
Hope and harmony must be our contribution
So much more for you to know
Opening places you can go
Using courage to support the cause of freedom
You can create a space in faith
Where together we relate
Let your love unite the world
Within your sphere
You’re the love and you’re the light
That conquer fear
Let your love unite the world
Within your sphere
As we reflect, let us not only mourn what was lost, but also remember that we, as a human race, are stronger when we stand united. As Gayle so beautifully wrote, “Let your love unite the world within your Sphere."
Warmly,
Roots of Humanity
