The Symbolism of Light: Why It Matters in Human Healing

Light has qualities and power beyond human comprehension. It is a symbol of hope and divine presence, a reminder of possibility and resilience, and a provider of clarity and transformation. While we may not understand the entirety of its complexity and exactly how it works in the universe, we do know is that it is a crucial element of life itself being the foundation of physical, spiritual, and emotional progression.

At Roots of Humanity, light is more than an element of the art and design of stained glass, it is the very essence of what we hope to awaken in every soul who experiences the sphere of light.

At times of particular distress and despair in life, light can feel difficult to find. Yet darkness cannot overcome the light. Even the smallest amount of it breaks through obscurity and will not be contained. Similarly, when a human being chooses to embrace positive, kind, loving, and compassionate thoughts and behaviors, they illuminate the space around them, transforming it for the better.

This is why our mission for the Sphere of Light is to "illuminate the light of the divine in every human soul and inspire in them the need to share it within their sphere of influence.”

Every piece of glass, every story illustrated, every intention of the art exists to remind us of the truth that we are beings of light with the capacity to use our gifts and talents to literally lift and sustain as only light can.

When we recognize the light within ourselves, we begin to see it in others. We speak with more compassion. We listen with more patience. We love with more purpose. Healing, in this way, is not only personal; it’s communal. The more we share our light, the brighter the world becomes.

There has perhaps never been a greater need on this planet for increased light and the healing it brings. Each of us has the potential to be a part of that healing. A single act of kindness, and connection, every choice to embrace positivity and charity transform the giver and the receiver at a cellular level.
