When the Vision Feels Too Big

Every significant endeavor will include moments when the weight of the vision feels almost too heavy to carry. When the goal is to create something that touches hearts, fosters understanding, bridges cultures, and reflects the light of humanity itself, the path can feel nearly impossible.

The Sphere of Light is more than just a building, it’s an idea: a living symbol where art and learning illuminate the path to peace and purpose. But building something so uniquely monumental comes with its share of challenges. There are days when the scope feels overwhelming — the design meetings long, the logistics complex, and the “how” still unfolding.

And then there are moments of doubt — not just within ourselves, but from others who may not yet understand what we’re striving for. They see glass and structure, while we see stories, compassion, unity, and light waiting to flourish.

Ironically, these challenges are actually part of the foundational beauty of such a vision, which must grow in few hearts before it becomes visible to many.

Every glass panel begins as a sketch, undefined and incomplete until ultimately, with the pieces together, light reveals its full brilliance. In the same way, the vision behind the Sphere will come into focus piece by piece, person by person until it illuminates every soul who experiences it.

When the weight feels heavy, we remind ourselves that it’s not ours alone to carry. Every person who believes, even quietly, adds their strength to the whole. Every supporter, artist, donor, and visitor becomes part of the unfolding pattern. As an African proverb aptly states: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

Great visions take time to be understood and courage to be completed. Yet knowing the light will break through and change everything it touches gives the strength to go far together.

Best,
